Betrayal Legacy – Game 8 Review

This is one in a series of posts regarding the board game Betrayal Legacy. You can access all my other Betrayal posts HERE. This post is a review of Game 8, which is designed to give you a feel for the game, whilst containing no spoilers. It assumes you are familiar with Betrayal at House on the Hill.

A Sunday …

Game 8 was a normal setup, followed by the Game 7 winner drawing this card, and reading the introduction on the back. As it turns out, it was an introduction of just one sentence, and we were immediately into the Haunt.

The Haunt

Chapter 8 is integral to the overall story, and thus everyone will play the same Haunt in their campaign. It’s a Haunt with a single Traitor, the Purple player in our case, and begins on a completely unexplored House. So none of the Heroes had any Items or Omens to help us, which made for a different experience.

An unexplored House, meant that the Traitor had to be relatively close to us. Even if Setup put us as far away from them as possible, which it did, that’s only 4 rooms. We split up to try and make it harder, but the Traitor summoned some Monsters. And first me, then the Red player, were taken down.

End of Game

However, due to a freak set of circumstances, the Blue player became essentially immortal. This allowed the Heroes to win, and play out the climax to Act II of the campaign. Things were shaken up nicely, as we head into the final century, of our House on the Hill.

The Fates of our Players
  • Blue – Jerry Costanza, 30, Not the Traitor, Lost. “Had big knowledge”
  • Red – Gertrude Monk, 2, Not the Traitor, Lost. “in Hell with the Devil & my friends”
  • Green – Audrey Griswold, 15, Not the Traitor, Lost.
  • Purple – Lin Manson, Now 78, Traitor, Lost. “Got f*ยข&ed by luck”
