Dragonvale – Camping Event 2022 – Breed a Pisceian Dragon

The first limited of the Camping Under the Stars event has arrived, and no prizes for guessing it would be a zodiac dragon. And just like the other 2 zodiac dragons, you need one specific parent, and then an astronomical element to breed a Pisceian dragon.

Pisceian Dragon Announcement

Omen + water

So, this is the first combination, since I’ve started blogging about them, that only adds 1 element to a specific parent in the breeding combination. Omen shares plant, cold, lightning and metal. So, we can breed it with a Water dragon, which won’t give us the 10% cloning boost for it as a parent. Or we can breed it with a hybrid. Let’s compare … first Omen + Water.

Pisceian dragon bred with Water dragon stats

The Water dragon is not a possible fail when used as a parent, so it’s not in the list. Pisceian has a 3.5% breeding chance, and this drops to 2.437% when Omen is paired with Water. This means 29 attempts are needed for a 50/50 chance to breed a Pisceian dragon. The average fail time is 16.9 hours. If you multiply that by 29 attempts, it means 20.42 days till you have an even money chance to get one.

Now, the regular water hybrid with the shortest breed time is Seaweed.

Omen + Seaweed

When we breed Omen with Seaweed, we add 10% to the chance of getting a 5 hour Seaweed, due to the cloning %. This drops all the set percentages of the other dragons, and the chance of getting a Pisceian dragon goes down to 2.193%. How much difference can 0.244% chance make, I hear you ask. In this case it means a further 3 attempts are required for a 50/50 chance of getting the desired dragon.

Using Seaweed drops the average fail time to 15.72 hours, meaning you save more than an hour, on average, for each breed. But, because you need 32 attempts, it will take just under 21 days for an even money shot to get a Pisceian dragon. Or more than half a day longer then if you choose to use a Water dragon.

This got me thinking … is there a water hybrid, that could lower the average fail time, but not take up too much of the set percentages. A water golden hybrid with a short breed time would drop the fail time AND would only add a small percentage with it’s cloning chance.

Omen + Conch

Piscean dragon bred with Conch dragon stats

Conch only adds 4% clone chance. So when you use it to breed a Pisceian dragon you have a 2.336% of breeding one. Average fail time is 0.43 hours (25 minutes, 48 seconds) lower than when you use Water. But the 0.1% lower chance, means 30 attempts are needed for a 50/50 chance to breed one. Multiplied by the average fail time, means just over 20 and a half days for that even money shot. 0.16 days longer, or an extra 3 hours, 48 minutes and 24 seconds.

In the scheme of things, there isn’t much difference, between Conch and Water. But for the first time, I would officially recommend using an elder dragon. Omen + Water is the way to go.

Cloning a Pisceian Dragon

Pisceian shares all the same elements as the breeding combination. But because we don’t need to use water to clone, we can use a Cactus dragon.

Pisceian dragon Cactus clone stats

There is only a 1% chance of cloning a Pisceian dragon, so 69 attempts are needed for an even money chance of cloning one. The average fail time is 15.28 hours. So just under 44 days for an even money shot. But, because Pisceian shares water, you can combine the breeding and cloning percentages.

Omen + Pisceian

Pisceian breed + clone stats

The combined percentages gives you a 3.411% chance to breed a Pisceian dragon. This means 20 attempts for a 50/50 chance. Average fail time is 16.73 hours, which means 13.94 days for an even money shot.

Omen + Pisceian is the way to go in the Cooperative Breeding Cave. Omen + Water (or Conch) in your other caves. Good luck everyone.

Edit: A new possibility occurred to me. Adding it now. -Shane

All 3 of the permanent event dragons share the water element. So, you can breed Omen with them, which will give you a chance to breed a Pisceian dragon, plus give you a chance to clone one of the new ones. But Gravity adds too many new elements, and Ariesian adds all of them. Breeding with either of those makes so many more fails, that the odds for Pisceian drop to less than the 1% chance you get for cloning it. But Cansian only adds the necessary water element. So …

Omen + Cansian

Pisceian bred with Cansian dragon stats

So, the resulting chance of Pisceian with this combination is 2.411%. This percentage is close enough to the chance when breeding with Water, that it results in the same 29 attempts/20 and a half days for a 50/50 chance of getting a Pisceian. But you also have a 1% chance of getting a Cansian. So a 3.411% chance of getting either of them. Only 20 attempts are needed for a 50/50 chance, which would take 13.94 days. This is the same odds as if you were breed/cloning Omen + Pisceian. But it gives you a chance of 2 event dragons. And some people might find that more helpful.
