Dragonvale – Easter Event 2021- Breeding a Florea Dragon

Florea has arrived. And it has a specific breeding pair.

ROSEBUD + WOODVINE

This breeding pair adds plant, fire, earth and air to the mix. Woodvine and Rosebud have specific breeding parents themselves, so their breeding % is ignored, and it is only their cloning % we have to worry about. The cloning percentage is higher for a regular breeding cave then the CBC, so we’ll look at that first, as I’m sure that’s where most breeding of this pair will happen.

Florea has a 4.5% breeding chance, and with the total set percentage less than 100, we get full advantage of that. That equates to 16 attempts required for a 50/50 shot, with an average fail time of 11.27 hours. It will take just over the 7 days available, for an even money shot at breeding one.

ROSEBUD + WOODVINE in the CBC

If you only have 1 of the parents, or you have an extra of 1 of them, you would be able to breed for it with a friend. The cloning % is much smaller in the CBC than in the regular breeding caves, which makes the percentages higher for the regular hybrids, all of which have a shorter breed time than these 2 dragons. This drops our fail time by half an hour.

Same 16 attempts required for an even money shot, but the shorter average fail time means us a third of a day. Not a great deal over the course of a week. A much better option is to try an clone a Florea. Because DECA is smiling on us, and have given us another event dragon with a 10% chance of social cloning.

Cloning a Florea Dragon

But Florea doesn’t share the elements that go into making it. The elements added during cloning are earth, cold, air, light & dark. That’s a much larger pool of resultant dragons, with a total set percentage of over 100%. Testing by Kristin seems to confirm Quils thoughts, that the clone percentage seems to be static, and does not decrease when the set % goes over 100. I have altered the formula in my spreadsheet to reflect that.

The dragon with the shortest breed time from those elements, is Sandstorm.

An update from DECA means Florea now shares the same 4 elements when breeding it, and the set percentage drops below 100 again. Poison is now the best dragon to clone with Florea

A breed chance of 10% means only 7 attempts are required for a 50/50 shot of getting one. And cloning no now gives the shortest average fail time when trying for the Florea. The total is now just 2.7 days for an even money chance of obtaining the Florea. You will average 19 attempts (if you don’t spend gems to speed up breeds) during the 7 days this dragon is available, which will give you a 85% chance of breeding one. This is obviously your best chance of the options available, so I recommend
