Dragonvale – Easter Event 2021 – Breeding a Narcis Dragon

The first limited dragon of the event has arrived. It requires an epic dragon + 2 elements

OUROBORUS + Dark + Metal

The regular dark + metal dragon with the shortest breed time is Promethium. Ouroborus adds Metal, Lightning and Water to the mix. As the Apocalypse element doesn’t help breed any dragons, the fails are only dragons made from the mixture of Lightning, Water, Metal & Dark.

Ouroborus itself can’t be bred, so there is only a 2% chance of cloning it. There’s a couple of Treasure dragons and Cyclops possible, so the average fail time is 14.84 hours. A decent breeding chance of 4.5%, means only 16 attempts for a 50/50 shot. 9.89 days of non stop breeding will give you an even money chance. 20% time saving in an upgraded cave, and a few gems spent on the quick fails, will give you a decent chance of breeding it.

But at the time of writing, you will have an even better chance of cloning it.

Cloning a Narcis Dragon

I don’t know if this will change, but the Narcis dragon currently has a 10% chance of cloning. Narcis shares the same 4 elements as breeding, so cloning with a Magnetic dragon will give the shortest average fail time.

No Ouroborus as a fail + 10% extra on a 4 hour dragon instead of an 8 hour dragon + a 10% cloning chance (instead of 4.5% chance of breeding) drops the average fail time to 13.49 hours. A 10% cloning chance means only 7 attempts will give you an even money shot of getting 1. This means less than 4 days of non stop cloning will give you a 50/50 shot. Trying non-stop for the 7 available days will give you 13 attempts, and a 75% chance of cloning one.

But, the Narcis dragon also shares the dark and metal elements. This means you can use it as a parent to breed for a Narcis dragon. So if you breed your Ouroborus dragon with a friends Narcis dragon, you will combine breeding and cloning chances.

OUROBORUS + NARCIS Dragon

Ouroborus is back as a fail, and we drop the 10% bonus on Magnetic, so the average fail time is between the first 2 examples, at just over 14 hours. But the breeding/cloning chance is 14.5%, meaning only 5 attempts are required for a 50/50 shot, or just under 3 days for an even money chance. On average, you will get 12 attempts during the week the Narcis is here, which would be an 85% chance of breedin/cloning a Narcis dragon.

As above, I’m not sure if this is a gift from DECA, or an error they will fix later. There is nothing you can do either way, except to breed for it while you can. Good luck.
