The next limited has arrived in the ‘Vale, and you require just a single specific parent to breed an Amalgamate dragon.
Bone + fire + earth + dark
Now, the Bone dragon already shares fire & earth, so we only need to add the dark element. The Dark dragon can’t be cloned, so we should breed with the dark hybrid with the shortest breed time. Making the most of the cloning percentages, this will keep the average fail time as short as possible. The dark hybrid with the shortest breed time is the Watch dragon.
Amalgamate has a 3.1% breed chance. And Bone + Watch only has 3 elements, which means there are no fails over 24 hours, and there are only 6 fails with set percentages. So we get to keep the entire %, which means 23 attempts required for a 50/50 chance to breed an Amalgamate dragon. There is an 11.13 hour average fail time, which means 10.66 days for the even money chance.
Clone an Amalgamate dragon
Amalgamate shares the same 3 elements, so Watch is still the regular hybrid with the shortest breed time.
The 10% cloning chance, means you need 7 attempts for a 50/50 chance. The average fail time drops to 10.43 hours. Which means just over 3 days for an even money chance to clone an Amalgamate dragon.
But, with only 1 specific parent, and all the elements being shared by the target, we can combine the breed and the clone percentage.
Bone + Amalgamate
The total 13.1% breed/clone chance, means you only need 5 attempts for that 50/50 chance. An even lower average fail time of 10.33 hours, equates to just 2.15 days for an even money shot of getting one. If you breed Bone + Amalgamate in the Cooperative Breeding Cave, for the full 7 days it is available, you will have 17 attempts on average, and just over 90% chance to get an Amalgamate dragon. This is obviously the combination I recommend. Good luck everyone.

P.S. Both Grimoire and Dortal share the dark element. You can breed either with Bone for a chance to breed an Amalgamate dragon. The chances for Amalgamate in both these instances are just over 1%. And it increases the average fail time, whilst trying to clone either of the other limited dragons. So while you could possibly try for 2 event dragons at once, it would be far better to try for them 1 at a time.
