Dragonvale – Winter 2020 Event – Breeding a Yeti Dragon

All my Dragonvale posts are being Indexed HERE for easy access.

The Yeti dragon has been added to Dragonvale and is available until the event ends in 10 days time. It is another limited dragon with a specific parent combination.

Krampus + Kringle

This combination of dragons has, plant, fire, earth & cold elements.

Yeti dragon breed stats

Krampus and Kringle can only be cloned with this pairing (not bred), as they each have their own specific dragon parents. This keeps the combined set % just under 100, so you get the full 1.5% chance of breeding a Yeti. The average fail time is 12 hour and a quarter hours, and 46 attempts is required to give an even money chance to get one. With one pair breeding, you would need 23 and a half days worth of fails to get to a 50/50 chance of acquiring one. If you breed non stop for the next 10 days, you will have 20 attempts, which is just over a 25% chance of being successful.

Cloning a Yeti

The Yeti dragon has a 4% chance of being socially cloned in the CBC. And it adds only plant, earth and cold elements. The dragon with those elements, and the shortest breed time is Forest.

Yeti clone with Forest dragon

This pairing gives a 4% chance of breeding a Yeti, and a 9% chance of breeding the 4 hour Forest dragon. 17 attempts for a 50/50 shot at acquiring one, or just under 8 days. Non stop breeding over the next 10 days would give you 22 attempts, and a 60% chance of cloning a Yeti. Gems spent on speed ups will increase that percentage.

But this few results means the regular dragons having an 8.67% chance of occurring. So I looked at cloning Yeti with the regular dragon with the shortest breed time.

Cloning a Yeti with a Lichen Dragon

Giving an extra 10% cloning chance to the 6 hour breed time of the Lichen, (instead of 4% cloning boost to the 4 hour Forest) drops the average fail time to just under 11 hours.

Yeti clone with Lichen dragon

The cloning of Yeti at 4% means you would still need 17 attempts for a 50/50 chance of acquiring one. But it drops the time required a little, to 7.78 days. You would still only manage 22 breeds in the next 10 days, so it doesn’t sway the percentages that much. And it is cheaper to spend gems on a 4 hour Forest fail than a 6 hour Lichen so

Forest + Yeti is my recommend cloning pairing.

Good luck.
